Code of Conduct for Teachers
- Teachers should handle the subjects assigned by the Principal/Head of the Department.
- Teachers should complete the syllabus in time and are accountable for producing good
results in the subjects they handle.
- Mentor system must be effectively implemented. Faculty shall monitor their assigned
group of students.
- Teachers should be good counselors and facilitators, helping to ensure the
Teaching-Learning Process is effective and successful. Value-based education must be
their motto.
- Teachers should maintain decorum inside and outside the classroom, setting a good
example for students.
Specific Aspects
- Teachers must report on time to duty as per prescribed working hours and stay in the
campus unless assigned duties elsewhere.
- Prior written permission should be obtained for reporting late or leaving early.
- In case of unplanned leave, the teaching faculty must inform the academic in-charge &
principal for class adjustment.
- Teachers should sign the attendance register when reporting for duty.
- Teachers are expected to arrive at least 10 minutes before the College's starting time.
- Teachers should remain on campus until the end of College hours.
- Staff should not use their position in the college for private advantage or gain.
- Teaching staff must maintain teaching diaries properly for all semesters.
General Points
- Teachers are prohibited from using cell phones while teaching classes.
- Prior written permission is required from the principal at least one day in advance when
availing planned leave.
- No more than 25% of staff members from any department are allowed to go on leave on a
particular day.
- Half-day CL is allowed.
- 12 days of casual leave can be availed in a calendar year.
Code of Conduct for Non-Teaching Staff
- Non-teaching staff working in the College office or departments should remain on duty
during College hours (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).
- Non-teaching staff assigned to Laboratories should keep the Labs clean.
- Non-teaching staff shall complete assignments given by the principal or faculty members
to whom they are attached.
- The lab staff must ensure that the lab is clean and ready for practical sessions.
- Lab staff must monitor the students during practicals to prevent mishandling of
equipment.
Code of Conduct for Students
- Students must abide by the rules and regulations of the college and conduct themselves
with discipline and decorum.
- Students must attend classes regularly and punctually, avoiding any action that disrupts
the smooth functioning of the college.
- Students must be clean and decorous in dress, language, and behavior.
- Smoking, drinking, and drug use are strictly prohibited on campus.
- Students must salute members of the teaching staff.
- Students must rise when a teacher enters the classroom and remain standing until
directed to sit.
- Students must not enter or leave classrooms during sessions without the teacher’s
permission.
- Students should remain in the Library/Reading room if they are free during class time
and not loiter in the college premises.
- Students must handle college property with care and maintain the cleanliness of
furniture, buildings, and premises.
- Any loss or damage to college property will result in a collective fine or double the
cost for the responsible students.
- Students must not address any gathering without special permission from the principal.
- Megaphones, loudspeakers, and mobile phones must not be used without permission.
- Posters, flags, memorials, floral arches, and festoons should not be displayed on
campus.
- Indecent behavior towards the opposite sex will not be tolerated.
- Students must not invite outsiders to enter the campus without permission.
- Demonstrations or campaigning of any kind on college premises is strictly prohibited.
- Rioting or agitating against groups of students or faculty members will not be
tolerated.
- Students with grievances must report them to the Grievance Cell.
- Ragging, teasing, and harassment are punishable offenses under the Police Act and will
be dealt with strictly.
- Students must maintain good behavior, respecting the rights of others, and contributing
to the college’s reputation.
- The authority of the principal extends outside the campus.
- The use of multimedia phones and activities like obscene cinematic dances and fashion
shows are banned on campus.
- Political activism is strictly prohibited on campus, and students cannot organize or
attend meetings without permission.
- Students are not allowed to make mass petitions to the principal. Complaints should be
made by teams of no more than three students.
- Any additional rules and regulations issued by the Management or Principal must be
adhered to.
Attendance & Leave of Absence
- Attendance will be taken at the beginning of each period.
- Students must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance per subject per term as required by
university rules.
- Students participating in sports, cultural activities, and NSS camps will receive
attendance credit, subject to providing participation certificates.
- Leaving the classroom without permission after roll call is punishable.
- Impersonating someone at roll call is a serious offense.
- Leave applications for absences of more than 4 days due to illness must be supported by
medical certificates.
- Students absent for more than 15 consecutive working days without explanation will have
their names temporarily removed from the roll.
- Disciplinary action will be taken against students repeatedly absent on insufficient
grounds.
- Students requiring leave for a day or part of a day must apply to the principal or
authorized teacher and submit the form to the college office on the day of return.
